Joining the Launceston Youth and Community Orchestra

The LYCO welcomes musicians of all skill levels. Some of our members joined after only a few weeks' experience; others have been playing for decades. Developing musicians may also join the Piccolo Strings Orchestra. If you play any of the instruments below, we'd like to hear from you.

Rehearsals

The Piccolo Strings and LYCO rehearse in the music rooms at Newstead College. Rehearsals are held every Friday during the public school term. A reasonable commitment to attendance is expected for the health of the orchestra. New players are welcome to join us for a few rehearsals before submitting an application form and paying the admission fee.

Family rates and concessions are available; contact Sue for details. All members must also buy a $30 LYCO T-shirt before playing in orchestra concerts.
