Launceston Youth and Community Orchestra - Recorded Music - Technical Help
Recorded Music - Technical HelpI click on the blue link text, but my computer doesn't know what to do with it.The music is in MP3 (MPEG Layer-3) digital audio format. Most computers built within the past decade can play them. Most likely your computer has become confused about its recognised file types. If you're running Windows, try saving the files and opening them in Windows Media Player. If you're running Mac OS, try saving the files and opening them in QuickTime. If you're running a Linux or BSD variant, you'll need to look elsewhere. If you have Windows but don't have Windows Media Player installed or haven't updated it lately, go here. If you have Mac OS without QuickTime, download it here. I want to save the music for later, but when I click on the links it starts playing instead.Right-click or Control-click on the links and a menu will appear. One of the items should allow you to save the music. The exact wording will depend on your Web browser; it should say something like 'Save as', 'Save link as' or 'Save linked file to the desktop'. My computer thinks it's playing the music, but I don't hear anything.Make sure your speakers or headphones are plugged in. If you aren't using headphones, make sure there are no headphones plugged in. If your speakers have their own volume control, make sure it isn't too low. Make sure the volume control on your computer's desktop isn't too low or muted. I still can't get the music to play. There are many possible causes, depending on your computer's combination of sound card, drivers, operating system and installed software. We're sorry, but we can't cover them all. Your computer's help system or manual may be able to help. |
