Launceston Youth and Community Orchestra - Spring Workshop
Improve your orchestral skillsThe Launceston Youth and Community Orchestra has run a successful Winter Workshop for many years. Thanks to Kevin Cameron's offer to conduct, we had a Spring Workshop in 2009, and will again in 2010. This workshop will be of most interest to brass musicians, although anyone who plays a symphonic instrument is welcome. LocationThe venue for the 2010 Spring Workshop is currently unknown. What to bringYou'll need yourself and your instrument. If you have a music stand, please bring it, too. The orchestra provides pizza for dinner on Friday, but you must arrange your on lunch on Saturday. The orchestra will provide an urn with tea and coffee. Conductor - Kevin Cameron
Kevin Cameron is Principal Conductor of the Band of the South Australian Police. He began his studies at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music and later received the first Doctor of Philosophy in Music awarded by the University of Newcastle. In 1994, he won the first ABC Young Conductor of the Year competition. MusicHere are three examples of pieces played at the 2009 Spring Workshop. The 2010 music will be similar.
