The 2010 Spring Workshop has ended. In March 2011 Kevin Cameron will return to conduct the Autumn Workshop.

Improve your orchestral skills

The Launceston Youth and Community Orchestra has run a successful Winter Workshop for many years. Thanks to Kevin Cameron's offer to conduct, we had a Spring Workshop in 2009, and will again in 2010. This workshop will be of most interest to brass musicians, although anyone who plays a symphonic instrument is welcome.

Location

As of 7th October 2010, Spring Workshop is split between two locations.

On Friday it will be in the Newstead College Music Rooms.

On Saturday it will be at the Scotch Oakburn Elphin Campus, in Mary Fox Hall.

What to bring

You'll need yourself and your instrument. If you have a music stand, please bring it, too. The orchestra provides pizza for dinner on Friday, but you must arrange your on lunch on Saturday. The orchestra will provide an urn with tea and coffee.

Conductor - Kevin Cameron

Kevin Cameron

Kevin Cameron is Principal Conductor of the Band of the South Australian Police. He began his studies at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music and later received the first Doctor of Philosophy in Music awarded by the University of Newcastle. In 1994, he won the first ABC Young Conductor of the Year competition.

The workshop is free to existing members of the LYCO. For others, it costs as below:
