2021 Residential Summer String Camp update

We are working on the assumption that the 2021 RSSC will go ahead and are currently working with Camp Clayton to nut out how we can run it with the current COVID-19 restrictions.

Applications for the 2021 String Camp will close on Christmas Eve. If the camp needs to close for COVID-19 related causes then at this stage there will be a full refund.

Once we have worked things out with Camp Clayton we will be putting the latest information on this website – – so keep watching!

Administration Changes

After many years as LYCO treasurer and camps administrator, Virginia de Groot is retiring from the LYCO Committee.

The LYCO and RSSC boards wish to thank Virginia for her huge contribution over the years. With Virginia’s retirement from these positions there will be changes to the registration process. We hope to make the transition as simple as possible.

Membership and camp enquiries should now be sent to apply@lyco.org.au.

Sincerely,

Margaret

Musical director

Fees Increase after 30th November 2015

While applications remain open after the 30th of November, there is a fee increase after that date. If you were planning to apply to the 2016 Residential Summer String Camp and have not yet done so, the remaining days of November are a good time to do so.

Application forms and other details may be found on the Apply page.

26th Residential Summer String Camp Applications Open

The 26th annual Residential Summer String Camp will run from 17th January 2016 to 23rd January 2016. The forms and information sheets have been added to the Apply page.

Returning campers will notice two changes to the fees this year.

First, managing special diets has necessarily become very complex for both the RSSC administration and Camp Clayton. From 2016 onwards (as for the 2015 LYCO Winter Orchestra Workshop), special diet requests incur an additional fee, based on the number of meals served. Specifics are on the fees page and application form.

Second, parents and older children will notice that fees since 2015 have increased relative to the adult fee. The costs the RSSC pays for accommodation, food and tutoring are no different between children and adults, so we have reduced the difference passed on to campers. Family rates and concessions will remain, and some bursaries will be offered for 2016. Details for those will be announced later.
