Rachel Meyers is a musician and composer based in lutruwita (Tasmania). She has performed with most major Tasmanian festivals and Australian folk festivals. Her music crosses boundaries of classical, folk and experimental music and sound art, and is focussed on listening and its role in mediating human and nonhuman relationships. Rachel is is a community-engaged artist who is passionate about working with stories of place, identity, and personal connection, and using art as a tool for real, tangible change. She leads educational and community programming with Van Diemen’s Band, has led workshops with Big hArt and Dorset Neighbourhood House, and is an experienced music ensemble facilitator and instrumental teacher.
