Venue, Accommodation and Meals

The Winter Orchestra Workshop will be held at Camp Clayton,
41 Clayton Road, Ulverstone, Tasmania, 7315
Note that Camp Clayton is both a nut-free and an alcohol-free venue.

On-site accommodation at Camp Clayton is in dormitory-style rooms or large family rooms. Beds at Camp Clayton are either Queen size or single (bunks).
There are NO single rooms at Camp Clayton. Everyone is expected to share a room. There are options on the Application Form for you to say who you would like to share with.
If you choose to stay onsite in Camp Clayton’s accommodation you can either:
hire bed linen and towels from Camp Clayton for a small fee (details are given on the Application Form), or
bring your own bed linen and towels (including a sheet large enough to cover the mattress (a large flat single sheet would be best as it will cover both sizes of bed), pillows and pillow cases, sleeping bag or equivalent, towels and shower mat).

Camp Clayton does offer camping facilities for both tents and motor-homes or caravans.
Electrical hook-ups are available.

Other options include staying off-site.

Be aware that Camp Clayton is by the sea and has its own beach.
You can go swimming (bring your swimming gear) – at your own risk! There are rip tides and jellyfish!
You will need to walk between the accommodation blocks and the rehearsal room. The weather can be cold and wet, so it is advisable to bring suitable outdoor clothing.
It is also advisable to bring extra blankets if you feel the cold.

The Workshop is fully catered by Camp Clayton’s chef and kitchen staff.
All dietary requirements, including vegetarian and vegan options, and food allergies are catered for. Non-dairy ‘milks’ are available for tea and coffee.
There are no self-catering options. We are not allowed to use the kitchens.
There are small fridges and a microwave for our use in the Dining Room.

Tea, instant coffee, Milo, milk and sugar are provided.
Most coffee lovers bring their own “plunger” or AeroPress and their own coffee.

We are required to serve food and to clean up after meals.
