Permanent Move to City Baptist Church

Change of Venue

As with recent rehearsals and concerts, all Piccolo Strings, Intermezzo Strings and Launceston Symphony Orchestra rehearsals will be held at the City Baptist Church, 11 Frederick St, Launceston.

Any exceptions will be announced in advance and noted on the Rehearsals page.

Changed Starting Time

From the 1st of August 2014 onwards, Piccolo Strings and Intermezzo Strings rehearsals will revert to running from 4:00pm to 5:00pm, instead of the recent 4:15pm to 5:15pm.

Supervision of Children

Parents of children playing with LYCO ensembles should note that their children are supervised during rehearsal times only and they should ensure their children are brought into the rehearsal rooms and collected from the rooms at the end of rehearsals. Parents are very welcome to sit in on rehearsals.

Access

Entry to the rehearsal rooms is usually via the laneway on the western side of the church. However, for the half hour from 5:00pm till 5:30pm, the front doors of the church will be open to enable ease of access. The front doors will be locked at all other times for security purposes.

Please note that LSO members should not enter via the side doors while the Intermezzo Strings are rehearsing.
If parents or members need to use these side doors during rehearsal times, please do so quickly and quietly so as not to disturb the orchestra.

Parking

We have been given permission from the church to use a few parking bays behind the church.  These spaces have been allocated to people with large instruments such as double basses, harps or percussion. Please be considerate and do not use these spots unless one has been allocated to you.
